There is important news for the candidates preparing for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025. The exam schedule for CLAT 2025 has been announced by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). This information has been given by issuing a notification on the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
According to the notification, CLAT 2025 exam will be conducted on Sunday, December 1, 2024. The exam time will be from 2 pm to 4 pm. Other details like application, syllabus and counseling dates will be released soon.
What is a CLAT?
CLAT is a central and nationwide entrance test for Bachelor of Laws (UG) and Masters of Law (PG) degree programs offered by 22 NLUs in India. Slitting the grade in CLAT paves the entry to the prominent and the finest legal education institute in the country.
Who can apply for CLAT 2024?
The CLAT is available for anybody who holds an Indian citizenship and who either graduated from College (For UG programmes) or earned his/her degree in law otherwise (For PG programmes). Age doesn’t matter if you can face the CLAT.
The application dates for the Common Law Admission Test 2024 have not been announced yet. But according to media reports, the application process for this examination can start in the month of July. After the start of the application, candidates will be able to fill the form through online medium to participate in it.
How can you apply?
- To fill CLAT 2025 application form, you first have to visit the official website.
- After clicking on CLAT 2025 link, you will first have to click on the registration link.
- After registration, candidates should complete the application process by filling other details.
- Finally, pay the prescribed fee and submit the form.
- Candidates must take a printout and keep it safe for future reference.
Exam Pattern and Syllabus:
CLAT consists of five sections:
- Legal Reasoning: Tests your analytical and logical reasoning skills in a legal context.
- Quantitative Techniques: Evaluates your mathematical ability and data interpretation skills.
- Logical Reasoning: Assesses your ability to identify patterns, analyze arguments, and draw conclusions.
- Current Affairs including General Knowledge: Tests your awareness of national and international events, legal and social issues.
- English Language Comprehension: Measures your reading comprehension, vocabulary and grammar skills.

Like last year, general category candidates will have to deposit Rs 4000 for CLAT. Apart from this, candidates coming from SC, ST category and BPL category will have to deposit Rs 3500.
