The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced the recruitment process for Agniveer Vayu under the Agnipath Scheme for Intake 01/2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit:
- Candidates must be born between 1 January 2005 and 1 July 2008. The maximum age at enrollment is 21 years.
- Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible.
- Educational Qualifications:
- Science Stream: 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English (minimum 50% aggregate) or equivalent qualifications like a 3-year Diploma in Engineering.
- Non-Science Stream: 10+2 in any discipline or a 2-year Vocational Course (minimum 50% aggregate).
Recruitment Process
- Phase I: Online Exam
- Objective test based on the candidate’s chosen stream (Science or Non-Science).
- Duration varies: 60 minutes for Science, 45 minutes for Non-Science, and 85 minutes for both combined streams.
- Phase II: Physical and Adaptability Tests
- Includes a Physical Fitness Test (PFT) with a 1.6 km run, push-ups, sit-ups, and squats.
- Adaptability tests assess the candidate’s ability to work in varied conditions and environments.
- Phase III: Medical Examination
- Comprehensive medical tests as per IAF standards to determine physical and mental fitness.
Benefits and Pay Structure
- Seva Nidhi Package: A one-time corpus of approximately ₹10.04 lakhs after four years, including government contributions.
- Insurance: Non-contributory life insurance of ₹48 lakhs during the service period.
- Monthly Pay Package: Starts at ₹30,000 (in-hand ₹21,000) with annual increments.
