Indian Army SSC Tech Recruitment 2025

The Indian Army invites applications for the 65th Short Service Commission (SSC) Tech Men (Oct 2025) and the 36th SSC Tech Women Course (Oct 2025), including widows of defense personnel for technical and non-technical entries. Key Details

1. Nationality and Eligibility:

Applicants must be Indian citizens or meet specific conditions for Nepalese or individuals of Indian origin migrating from select countries. Eligibility certificates are required in certain cases.

2. Age Limit:

  • SSC Tech (Men and Women): 20-27 years (Born between Oct 2, 1998, and Oct 1, 2005).
  • Widows of Defense Personnel: Maximum of 35 years as of Oct 1, 2025.

3. Educational Qualifications:

  • Engineering graduates or final-year students are eligible, provided they complete their degree by Oct 1, 2025.
  • Widows applying for non-tech entries require a graduation degree in any discipline, while tech applicants need a B.E./B.Tech in any engineering stream.

4. Vacancies:

A total of 350 vacancies for SSC Tech (Men) and 29 for SSC Tech (Women) are available across various engineering disciplines. An additional two vacancies are reserved for widows of defense personnel.

Selection Procedure

1. Application Shortlisting:

Candidates are shortlisted based on their cumulative academic performance, with cutoffs determined per engineering discipline.

2. SSB Interview:

Shortlisted candidates will attend a two-stage SSB interview. Those who clear the first stage proceed to the second, with the entire process spanning five days.

3. Medical Examination:

Candidates recommended by the SSB undergo a medical examination. Those declared fit are considered for final merit listing based on SSB performance.

Training and Commission

1. Training Duration:

Selected candidates will undergo 49 weeks of pre-commission training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), with all expenses covered by the government.

2. Terms of Service:

Upon successful training completion, candidates are commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army with a tenure of 10 years (extendable by four years). Permanent commission options are available under specific conditions.

Pay and Benefits

  • Lieutenant Rank: Pay Level-10, starting at ₹56,100 per month, alongside Military Service Pay of ₹15,500.
  • Cadet Stipend: ₹56,100 during training.
  • Allowances: Include transport, uniform, field area, and risk hardship allowances, varying by rank and location.

Applications are accepted exclusively through www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. Candidates must ensure all details are accurate to avoid disqualification.

2. Document Requirements:

Applicants must carry original and self-attested copies of essential documents, including educational certificates, at the time of the SSB interview.
