Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), a premier Navratna company under the Ministry of Defence, has announced its apprentice recruitment program for 2024-25.
Vacancies and Disciplines
MDL is inviting online applications for 200 apprenticeship positions across multiple disciplines. The distribution of seats is as follows:
- Diploma Apprentices: 30 seats
- General Stream Graduates: 50 seats
- Engineering Graduate Apprentices: 120 seats
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for these positions:
- Applicants must hold a relevant diploma or degree recognized by the AICTE or the Government of India.
- Only Indian nationals can apply.
- The age limit is 18 to 27 years as of March 1, 2025. Age relaxations apply for reserved categories (SC/ST: 5 years, OBC-NCL: 3 years, PWD: 10 years).
- The qualifying date for educational eligibility is April 1, 2020, or later.
Stipend Details
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend:
- Diploma Holders: ₹8,000 (₹4,000 each from MDL and the Government via DBT).
- Engineering Graduates: ₹9,000 (₹4,500 each from MDL and the Government via DBT).
Application Process
Interested candidates must apply online via the MDL Apprentice Portal. The application process includes:
- Registration and submission of necessary details.
- Uploading scanned copies of required documents, including passport-sized photographs and educational certificates.
- Completing the online application before February 5, 2025.

Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic performance (80% weightage) and interview performance (20% weightage). Shortlisted applicants will undergo document verification and an interview at MDL. The final merit list will be published on MDL’s website.
