Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), a “Maharatna” Public Sector Enterprise and a leader in India’s crude oil and natural gas sector, has announced a major recruitment drive for 108 executive positions at the E1 level in Engineering and Geoscience disciplines.

Available Positions and Eligibility
Engineering and Geoscience Disciplines
A total of 108 posts are open across various categories. Key disciplines include Geology, Geophysics, Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, and Electrical engineering.
Essential Qualifications:
- Geophysicists (Surface/Wells): Postgraduate degree in Geophysics, Geophysical Technology, or Physics with Electronics (minimum 60% marks).
- Engineers: Graduate degrees in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Electrical Engineering with at least 60% marks.
- Geologists: Postgraduate degree in Geology, Petroleum Geoscience, or Geological Technology with a minimum of 60% marks.
Age Limit (as of the application’s closing date):
- General/EWS: 26–27 years (depending on the role).
- OBC (NCL): 29–30 years.
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Up to 41–42 years depending on the category.
- SC/ST: 31–32 years.
How to Apply
- Applications must be submitted online through the ONGC website (www.ongcindia.com) from January 10, 2025, to January 24, 2025.
- Registration Fee: ₹1,000 for General/OBC/EWS candidates. SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempt.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Scale: ₹60,000–₹1,80,000.
- Additional benefits include 35% allowances, Dearness Allowance, HRA/Company accommodation, Provident Fund, Medical Facilities, Gratuity, and Post-Retirement Benefits.
- Estimated CTC: Approximately ₹25 lakh annually.
Selection Process
- Computer-Based Test (CBT):
- Objective test comprising 85 questions: 40 from the concerned subject, 10 from General Awareness, 25 from Aptitude, and 10 from English Language.
- No negative marking.
- Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates in a 1:5 ratio will proceed to an interview round.
- Group Discussion: Conducted for further evaluation.
- Final Merit List: Based on CBT (85% weight) and Interview (15% weight).
Documents Required:
- Scanned copies of educational certificates, ID proof, photo, and signature.
- Relevant caste and PwBD certificates (if applicable).
